Piero Lissoni Biography:

Piero Lissoni (born 1956) is one of Italy's leading Italian architects and designer, known for his contemporary furniture design. Lissoni's influences include Italian masters Zanuso, Sottsass, Castiglioni, and Magistretti, but also Danish designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Poul Kjaerholm. His clients are many of the most world-renowned design companies: Alessi, Boffi, Cappellini, Cassina, Flos, Fritz Hansen, Kartell, Living Divani, Matteograssi, Poltrona Frau, Porro, and Tecno. Piero Lissoni was born in 1956 and graduated from the Milan Polytechnic with a degree in architecture in 1978. In 1984, he began working as an Art Director and Designer at Boffi, an Italian architecture firm which specializes in designing kitchens and bathrooms. A few years later, he founded the architectural firm Lissoni Associates with Nicoletta Canesi. He continues to design today, and one of his pieces, Sol Light, a 3-dimensional geometric grid of cubes, was recently auctioned off to raise money for cancer research.

Piero Lissoni (born July 23, 1956, in Seregno) is an Italian architect, art director and designer.[1] For over thirty years, he has developed projects the world over in the fields of architecture, landscape and interior, as well as in product and graphic design. He is also art director for Alpi, B&B Italia, Boffi, Living Divani, Lema, Lualdi, Porro and Sanlorenzo.[2]

In 1986, Lissoni, alongside Nicoletta Canesi, founded the studio Lissoni & Partners in Milan, Italy, focusing on architecture as well as interior and product design. In 1996, Lissoni Graphx, the agency for visual communication, directed by Piero Lissoni's brother Massimo Lissoni, was added to the company. Graphx specializes in brand identity, including catalogs, advertising campaigns, videos, web design, and packaging. They were in charge of the visual coordination of the Venice International Film Festival, organized by La Biennale di Venezia from 2007 until 2016.[3]
