Hailing from Dudhala village in Amareli district in Gujarat, Savji left school at the age of 13 and joined his uncle's diamond business.Later he started his own business with a small loan from his uncle. After a struggle of 10 years in the diamond polishing business, he set up Hari Krishna Exports in 1991.
In 2014, the company registered a turnover of Rs 400 crore, 104% higher than the previous year.
Today, Hari Krishna Exports has over 6,000 employees involved in export of diamond jewellery to about 50 countries including USA, Belgium, UAE, Hong Kong and China.
