Marquan Nesbitt aka Quan The Poet is an lgbt poet, writer, songwriter and media personality. Quan The Poet first realized his passion for writing when he was getting bullied in middle school, a guidance counselor told him to write down his feelings on paper instead of using anger as an outlet. Little did he know that the outlet his teacher had suggested would become an obsession that turned into a deep passion. Quan The Poet wrote his worries away from that day on taking out every emotion he felt on a piece of paper. As he grew up and came into his own truth he found himself obsessed not only with writing but, also obsessed with the entertainment industry as well. While his obsession and passion grew he found himself stuck at another obstacle; he had realized that he was gay and coming out to family and friends who didn’t accept gays would be a new struggle that he had to take on.
