OVERVIEW
So, day three of Henley Royal Regatta. As many of our events come down from 32 entries to two on Sunday, we have a rest day for the Temple, the Brit, and the Princess Elizabeth. Again, we pick that up because this is not usual for people (since the Regatta was extended to six days last year). The coaches and the teams are going to have to manage that. And we're getting started with other events today. The Town, which is the elite coxless fours. Princess Grace, the women's quads. Hambleden, Stonor - the pair, and the double for the women, and the Princess Royal, which is the women's singles. I've picked many ones to watch because this is a really exciting day of racing.

Sarah Winckless to make history as the first woman to umpire the men’s Boat Race
That is an oarsome achievement.
On Sunday Sarah will make history by becoming the first woman in the event’s 166-year history to umpire the men’s University Boat Race.
Was her rise to the top a breeze?
She spent her formative years in Henley, and her father was an accomplished rower and coach. Her stepfather was an Olympic medallist and world champion. Yet she avoided rowing. It was whens she was at Cambridge University that she was persuaded to give rowing a serious go.
Her mother had Huntingdon’s Disease and Sarah decided to be tested to see if she had the faulty gene which meant she could get the disease. The results revealed she had.
(Sarah, at 47, says she has experienced none of the symptoms).
She went on to have a fantastic rowing career. She won a bronze at the Athens Olympics in 2014 and was twice a member of the world championship winning four.

Sarah Katharine Winckless (born 18 October 1973) is a British former rower. She won a bronze medal in Double sculls with her partner Elise Laverick at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and was twice world champion, in 2005 and 2006.
Early life and education
Winckless was born in Reading,[1] was educated at Tiffin Girls' School and at Millfield, and began rowing whilst at Cambridge University, where she studied Natural Sciences at Fitzwilliam College.[2]
Career
Winckless made her debut for Great Britain in the women's eight at the World Championships in 1998 and finished eighth. She then transferred to sculling, finishing ninth in the double at the 2000 Olympic Games. She was in GB quadruple scull crews that narrowly missed out on the medals at the 2002 and 2003 World Championships, finishing fourth both times. She teamed up with Elise Laverick for the double scull from 2004 on, producing good results in the World Cup season before taking Olympic bronze in the 2004 Games held in Athens.[1] She return
