Marie Rose Ferron, often called the Little Rose, was a Canadian-American Roman Catholic mystic and stigmatist.
Marie Rose Ferron was born on May 24th, 1902 in St Germain de Grantham, Quebec, and was the tenth child of a family of fifteen children.
After an intense period of suffering in union with Jesus for the conversion of sinners, Marie Rose Ferron took flight to heaven on May 11, 1936, at age 33.

Marie Rose Ferron, better known as Little Rose, lived a life of love and reparation as one of Our Lord's victim souls. Her vocation was one of suffering and her mission was that of reparation - "to fill up those things that are lacking of the sufferings of Christ ... for His Body which is the Church."(Col. 1 :24)

Little Rose was born St. Germain de Grantham, Quebec in 1902 to a large, working-class family. When she was four years old, her family immigrated to Fall River, Massachusetts. In her mid-teens, Rose was stricken with a mysterious illness which confined her to bed; she accepted suffering as a vocation. In 1925, the family moved to Woonsocket, Rhode Island, where Rose spent the remainder of her life.

The American mystic Marie "Little Rose" Ferron and her devotion to Saint Gemma

One of St Gemma’s many devotees was the American mystic and stigmatic Marie Rose Ferron(1902-1936) who lived in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. And like Saint Gemma, Marie-Rose, who is better known as “Little Rose”, lived a life of love and reparation as one of Our Lord's victim souls. Her vocation was one of suffering and her mission was that of reparation - "to fill up those things that are lacking of the sufferings of Christ ... for His Body which is the Church." (Col. 1:24)

If you’ve been following this blog in the last few months, you may remember me mentioning that I’m writing a biography of Marie Rose Ferron, a little-known Catholic mystic who, though born in Canada, lived most of her life in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. In fact, I’m going to be visiting the foundation promoting her cause for canonization in June, including viewing their archives, visiting her grave and interviewing experts about her.

I mention her today because in the Catholic Church, someday this will be her feast day. (The date you die is considered your feast day when you become a saint. May 11 is the 82nd anniversary of her death. May 24 would have been her 116 birthday.)
