Rachel Smith

Rachel Smith is vice president and general manager, Canada, at Air Products. She is responsible for driving the strategy and profitability of the company’s Industrial Gases and HyCO businesses in Canada, as well as executing Air Products’ growth initiatives in the region.

Ms. Smith joined Air Products in 2013 as a senior plant process engineer in Edmonton, Alberta. In 2014 she was appointed to the HyCO account manager role and later moved into a commercial leadership role for the Canadian franchise. Ms. Smith was promoted to area manager for California and Canada HyCO in 2019 and most recently was named director for the HyCO Western Region.

Prior to joining Air Products, Ms. Smith’s professional experience included engineering, operations, and commercial roles in Canada’s energy sector. Ms. Smith worked for Suncor Energy in Fort McMurray, Alberta and Enbridge Pipelines in Edmonton, Alberta.

Rachel Renee Smith was born at a United States Army base in Panama, where her parents were stationed, on April 18, 1985. Shortly after, her family was stationed to Ft. Campbell, so they moved to Clarksville, Tennessee. Rachel was interested in modeling and television throughout her early childhood, and she began modeling as early as eight years old. While living in Clarksville, Rachel attended Clarksville Academy; however, she eventually graduated from Davidson Academy in Nashville. In 2002, Rachel won the title of Miss Tennessee Teen; she went on to compete in Miss Teen USA in 2002, winning an award for most photogenic.

After high school, Rachel went on to pursue her Bachelors degree in Journalism at Belmont University; due to a variety of community service activities and outstanding academics, her entire tuition was paid for. She excelled at Belmont, earning a spot on the Dean’s list every semester and graduating magna cum laude in 2006. Rachel Smith (born 3 January 1993) is a rhythmic gymnast. She has competed for Great Britain at European and World championships for rhythmic gymnastics as an individual gymnast and the GBR RG team and also captained the team which competed for Team GB at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.[1]

Early life

Smith was born on 3 January 1993 in Wyken, Coventry, England[2] to father Robert Smith and mother Vanessa Smith. She attended Ravensdale Primary School, where she began her gymnastics career.

Gymnastics career

Smith started gymnastics at the age of 6 at Ravensdale Primary School, where she was spotted as talented and sent to the City of Coventry RGC, the local gymnastics club. From here she trialled for the Great Britain gymnastics squad located at Lilleshall National Sports Centre, where she was accepted into the performance squad at the age of 8.
