Marlyne Nayokah Barrett (nee Affleck), born on 13 September 1978 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA, is an American actress and producer. She has a recurring role as politician Nerese Campbellin The Wire. She is also known for her roles in the films Heist(2001) and Night Call(2017). She has been married to Gavin Barrett since 15 May 2009. They have twin sons Johuah Jireh Barrett and Ahnne-N'urya Barrett born in October 2021.

She played attorney Felicia Marquand in the FX series Damages in 2007.

Since appearing in The Wire she has gone on to star in the Dick Wolf created Chicago series as Senior Emergency Room Nurse Maggie Lockwood, appearing in Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. as a guest star and starring in Chicago Med.

She began her career appearing on stage and television, before she co-starred with Hill Harperin the 2003 romantic comedy Love, Sex and Eating the Bones. In the late 90s, she was a VJ for the TV station Musique Plus in Montreal, Canada. Later in 2000s, Barrett had a number of guest starring television roles on the New York City-filmed dramas, include the NBC police procedural drama Law & Order and its spin-offs Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Trial by Jury and the short-lived NBC legal drama Conviction.
