Born in Cairns, Queensland, Australia, Brenton Thwaites made a name for himself on Australian television, including “Slide” and “Home and Away.” When he moved to the United States, Thwaites found success with films, such as “Blue Lagoon: The Awakening,” “Oculus,” “The Giver,” “Gods of Egypt,” “Maleficent,” “An Interview with God,” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.”

At this year’s Motor City Comic Con, I had the incredible opportunity to speak with actor Brenton Thwaites about the future of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and his role as Dick Grayson/Nightwing.
Thwaites has been portraying Batman’s original protege on Titans since 2018, but he’s still up for a solo movie as long as there’s a fresh story to tell. Speaking of movies, he’d also love to see the cast of Dead Men Tell No Tales reunite for a sixth adventure on the high seas…

Uday Kataria: So first of all, I’m a huge Pirates of the Caribbean fan, and I really loved your role as Henry Turner in the fifth movie. Is that a role you could ever see yourself returning to, either as the lead of your own movie or in Margot Robbie’s spinoff movie?

FROM SLiDE TO TITANS: WHY WE LOVE BRENTON THWAITES
Brenton Thwaites is an Australian actor who shot to a worldwide fame after playing in a new Fox8 Australian teen drama series Slide. His tryst with acting started back in Australia, during college, where he studied acting and in 2010, he made his debut with the independent film Charge over You. It gained him the much needed momentum and confidence and he made a move to Sydney to give his acting career a professional turn. After years of appearing in TV shows and independent films, came Oculus, a horror flick, which got him all the necessary credibility he required in Hollywood.
Brenton Thwaites was born on 10th August 1989 in Queensland, Australia. He finished his early schooling from Cairns State High School, graduated in 2006 and during all this time, he was never much interested in becoming an actor.
