Hanson is an American pop rock band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, formed by brothers Isaac Hanson (guitar, vocals, bass, piano), Taylor Hanson (keyboards, vocals, percussion), and Zac Hanson (drums, vocals, piano). Supporting members include Dimitrius Collins (guitar, additional keyboard) and Andrew Perusi (bass), who have toured and performed live with the band since 2007.
Hanson is best known for the 1997 hit song "MMMBop" from their debut album released through Mercury/Polygram Records, entitled Middle of Nowhere, which earned three Grammy nominations. At the time of the music video, the boys were 16, 14, and 11 years old. The group's label Mercury Records was merged with its sister labels and the band were moved to Island Def Jam Music Group. After releasing one album with them, the band left the label.
Hanson has sold over 16 million records worldwide and have had three top 20 albums in the United States. They have had three top 20 US Hot 10

The music and entertainment industry are not known for decades-long careers from rock and pop artists. In fact, their legends have codified in the mind of pop culture that few if any artists expect to claim long term success due to the highly competitive landscape and shifting sands of a trend-laden, non-artist friendly business. The Hanson Brothers are a fictional trio of siblings who played for the fictional minor leagueice hockey team the Charlestown Chiefs in the 1977 movie Slap Shot and its two sequels.[1] The characters – Dave, Steve, and Jeff Hanson – were based on real-life siblings Jack, Steve, and Jeff Carlson, who played for the 1974-75 Johnstown Jets in the North American Hockey League. Characters Steve and Jeff Hanson were portrayed by their real-life namesakes, Steve and Jeff Carlson.
