Nadja Benaissa, née le à Francfort-sur-le-Main, est une chanteuse, compositrice et actriceallemande. En 2000, elle se fait connaître du public grâce au groupe de musique pop féminin No Angels qu'elle a rejoint après avoir participé à la version allemande de l'émission Popstars[1].

Après une série de succès commerciaux avec le groupe, la chanteuse entame une carrière solo en 2004 et sort son premier album solo Schritt für Schritt en 2006. L'album est entièrement écrit en allemand et est dans les styles musicaux soul, jazz et R&B[2] mais connaît un succès commercial modéré[2]. Elle commence alors à préparer un second album solo.

Nadja Benaissa (born 26 April 1982) is a German singer and television personality. She rose to fame in late 2000 when she auditioned for the German adaption of the reality television show Popstars and became a member of the girl group No Angels, one of the best-selling girl groups of European origin of all time.[1] During their hiatus, Benaissa released her solo album, Schritt für Schritt (2007), which produced the single "Ich hab dich", and represented Hesse in the Bundesvision Song Contest 2006 with the song, finishing in fourth place.[1]

No Angels reunited in 2007. Benaissa announced her departure from the group in 2010 after she was found guilty of one count of causing grievous bodily harm and two counts of attempted bodily harm and given a two-year suspended sentence

In 2005 she also launched a career as a solo artist, signed a deal with Universal Records. Encouraged to perform soul, and R&B music with lyrics in German language after a 2001 participation in the Sisters Keepers project's single "Liebe & Verstand" (released by an all-star cast of female Afro-German musicians), Benaissa decided to focus on writing German lyrics only. As a result she released her first solo single, "Es Ist Liebe", produced by Tino Oac, in September 2005. The Motown inspired song received a positive reception from music critics, but failed to chart on the German Top 50.

In fall 2005 Benaissa went on tour as supporting act for Simply Red. Afterwards she prepared the release of her second single "Ich Hab Dich", which was chosen to represent Hesse on the 2nd Bundesvision Song Contest. Nadja eventually finished fourth with 104 points, while
