Tahliah Debrett Barnett (born 17 January 1988[6]), known as FKA twigs, is an EnglishR&Bsinger. She used to be called twigs. Her music has been called post-dubstep and trip-hop.[7]
She was on the cover of i-D magazine in August 2012.[8]
twigs released her first EPEP on 4 December 2012.
On 1 August 2013, Twigs posted the video for her single "Water Me" on YouTube. It now has over one million views.[9]
twigs released her second extended playEP2 on 17 September 2013. It was her first release on the record label The Young Turks. Pitchfork gave it a score of 8 out of 10.[10]
In 2013 BBC put her on their Sound of 2014 list of nominees.[11] In January 2014 BBC chose the winner.

FKA twigs is a pseudonym of singer,songwriter, producer and dancer Tahliah Debrett Barnett. Born January 16, 1988, in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, she was formerly known as twigs. Named after the way her bones pop and crack; the part-Jamaican, part-Spanish singer now based in London, released a 4 track EP in December 2012, accompanied by their respective promo videos.
"How's that", produced and written with Arca, surfaced in May 2013. The single "Water Me", was released in August. Both tracks are extracted from her Young Turks debut release "EP2", out on September 17, 2013 alongside a promo video for "Papi Pacify"
Following some preview gigs in the US and Europe, it was announced Twigs' debut album, "LP1", would be released in August 2014. Tahliah Debrett Barnett (born 16 January 1988), known professionally as FKA Twigs (stylized as FKA twigs), is an English singer, songwriter, record producer, and dancer. She was a backup dancer for numerous musicians, and made her musical debut with EP1 (2012). Barnett's debut studio album, LP1 (2014), reached number 16 on the UK Albums Chart and number 30 on the US Billboard 200. It was nominated for that year's Mercury Prize. She then released the EP M3LL155X (2015).
Barnett took a four-year hiatus before releasing her second studio album, Magdalene (2019). After signing with Atlantic Records, she released the mixtape Caprisongs (2022). Her work has garnered acclaim and has been described as "genre-bending",[7] drawing on various genres including electronic music, trip hop, R&B, hyperpop and avant-garde. Her third studio album, Eusexua, was released on 24 January 2025.
